“Recently (On 8th March) I was carrying 10 liters of liquid soap to sell in the women gathering but it was already finished on the way. Now, I have become the owner of a small business and making my livelihood easily. Thanks to RS Nepal for making me able to shine in my very old age in my community.” says MS Parbati Tamang 66, local resident of Godawari, Lalitpur.

MS Parbati Tamang 66, Local Resident of Godawari, lalitpur shared her story:

“When my husband left this world 14 years, back then, I struggled a lot to bring up my family. Now my three children are grown up and living their own life in different sector.  Despite of many physical infirmities such as diabetes, Hypertension (high blood pressure), uric acid and heart problems, I was struggling for my livelihood.

“One day I heard about the single women group formation through my pastor Jacob Tamang and joined that group. In the group, Ms. Sabina Chamling, the Programmer Coordinator of Rise and Shine Nepal gave us a ‘Liquid Soap Making Training’. After learning this skill, I started selling the liquid soap in the market, in my church and in my neighborhoods. Within a year, I was able to save Rs. 60,000/- (Sixty Thousand Rupees) and build a small cottage with the help of my church members, my neighbors and my very own saving in the piece of land which I had.

Now I have started a small shop in my own house with different item along with this liquid soap. This liquid soap has a good demand. Rise and Shine Nepal has supported me to commence my business by providing the skill development training and the Revolving Fund.
